Open House Search, SEO & Speed Improvements

Open House Functionality for your Real Estate Website

If you are a RealtyNinja website customer, things just got a lot faster and generally more ninja. Here is everything you need to know about the latest RealtyNinja update.

New Open House Search and Expanded Open House Availability

NEW FEATURE! On your RealtyNinja website, you can now create custom MLS® searches that only show listings that have upcoming open houses. This means you can now show listing results with upcoming open houses in a specific area or sub-area – this is awesome for your SEO because many people are out there searching for open houses, not just listings! Check out a live example of a RealtyNinja Open House MLS® Search:

When a listing has an upcoming open house, it is automatically updated on your RealtyNinja site with a ribbon across the top left corner of the main listing image. This used to only be true for Vancouver customers, but as of immediately this feature is available in Vancouver, Victoria, Vancouver Island and Calgary.

UPDATE! The Open House functionality is now available in Edmonton as EREB has just switched over to Paragon.

Open House Functionality for Real Estate Agent websites

RealtyNinja automatically displays open house dates, times and notes from the MLS® data we receive, so make sure to load in your open houses through your MLS® software. Your website will update open house information daily.

Note: Open House functionality is not yet available in Toronto or in DDF markets. (Not sure what DDF is? Click here)

SEO Speed & Performance Update

Our code ninjas have been working overtime behind the scenes to optimize the speed and performance of your RealtyNinja website. Many complex and advanced modifications have been made, each of which greatly increases your site load times and more. The purpose of these updates is strictly to increase your organic Search Engine Rank (aka Search Engine Optimization, or SEO).

We could get into the specific technical jargon behind what improvements were made, but we know you would prefer if we explained via plain english bullet-points:

  • Optimized the way RealtyNinja websites serve images to visitors, which results in faster page load times. (Search engines admire, and give priority to quick-loading websites!)
  • Improved how RealtyNinja code is structured, which results in less “heavy lifting” when a visitor’s browser is loading your website – especially on the initial page load (your home page or landing page).
  • Fine-tuned the RealtyNinja static asset caching policies, which reduces the amount of data that needs to be downloaded on each page. Again, speed = SEO!
  • Added the ability for you to provide your own Robots.txt and Sitemap.xml files for advanced SEO work. (Click here to learn how to use this feature)

These SEO enhancements are substantial, but not everything we’ve got coming down the pipeline! Our code ninjas are still working away on new SEO updates! Stay tuned for those and other exciting changes coming your way. I wish I could tell you about all the cool things we’ve got on the road-map for RealtyNinja customers right now, but it’s just too soon…

Thanks for reading, Ninjas. If you have any questions about these updates, or if you’d like our team to add a few open house searches on your website for you, just get in touch and let us know what areas you’d like to cover:

Until next time. [-_-]~~
