Details on how to set this up are below.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Benefits of live streaming your next open house:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>You can live stream from the most popular platforms <em>(ie. You don&#8217;t need to do anything for that to work.<\/em><\/li><li><em>The new live stream open house functionality is available on our Listings-Only (IDX) Accounts as well, but with limited capability.<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #3796f0;\"><a id=\"step\"><\/a>Step-by-step Guide On How To Live Stream Your Next Open House<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #3796f0;\"><strong>Step 1)<\/strong><\/span> Talk to your Seller and determine a date and timeframe when you can come into their home and provide a live-streamed open house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #3796f0;\">Step 2)<\/span>&nbsp;<\/strong>Choose which platform you&#8217;d like to use for the live stream. We recommend starting with Facebook and\/or Instagram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #3796f0;\"><strong>Step 3)&nbsp;<\/strong><\/span>Load up your MLS\u00ae software <em>(ie: Paragon)<\/em> and find the section to add a new live stream open house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Note: At the time of writing this, not all real estate boards have&nbsp;live stream functionality available yet. Currently, this is available in Greater Vancouver, Edmonton, Victoria, and CREA&#8217;s DDF but we expect all boards to follow suit. Please reach out to your real estate board and ask them how to add a live stream open house to your listings on MLS\u00ae.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When adding a live stream open house to MLS\u00ae, you will be asked for those 2 core components we mentioned <em>(date\/times and live stream URL)<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Set your &#8220;Live Stream URL&#8221; to your business&#8217;s page\/profile on whatever platform you&#8217;re using. For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Your business on Facebook <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/RealtyNinja\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/RealtyNinja\/<\/a><\/li><li>Your business on Instagram <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/realtyninja\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/realtyninja\/<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We recommend allowing at least 45 minutes for your live stream per platform, as people will come and go at various times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some MLS\u00ae platforms may offer the ability to add a note to your live stream open house. Write something short and sweet, for example, &#8220;<em>Join us live on Facebook! We&#8217;ll tour this beautiful home and answer all your questions in real-time<\/em>&#8220;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #3796f0;\"><strong>Ninja Tip:<\/strong> Tell your client you&#8217;ll be there for 2 hours, and spend 45 mins live on Facebook and 45 mins live on Instagram &#8211; with a small gap in between to reset. Scroll down for some handy guides on how to do this on each of the popular platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We recommend that you do a quick live practice-run to make sure you&#8217;re familiar with the interface and deal with any technical snags that come up <em>(settings like allowing your microphone\/camera, etc.).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #3796f0;\"><strong>Ninja Tip:<\/strong> Ask someone to come to the event with you so they can film you and moderate comments as you tour the home. It&#8217;s much easier to do it without having to hold the phone yourself!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #3796f0;\"><strong>Step 6)&nbsp;<\/strong><\/span>On the day of the event, arrive at your client&#8217;s home at least 30 mins before your scheduled start time and get everything prepared. Make sure:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li style=\"text-align: left;\">Your phone is 100% charged<\/li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">You have a&nbsp;portable battery bank&nbsp;just in case<\/li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">The home is empty, clean and presentable<\/li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">You look fabulous<\/li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">You turn on <em>&#8220;Do Not Disturb&#8221;<\/em> mode so you don&#8217;t get interrupted by incoming calls<\/li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">You get on wifi if you can, and double-check the internet connection speed<em> (go to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fast.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fast.com<\/a> and make sure the number shown is above 10 Mbps)<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #3796f0;\"><strong>Step 7)&nbsp;<\/strong><\/span>When it&#8217;s time to start the live stream open house, simply open up the app you&#8217;ve chosen <em>(ie: Facebook)<\/em> and go LIVE. Make sure to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Start right on time<\/li><li>Keep an eye on your battery\/clock<\/li><li>Say hi to people by name as they enter the live stream<\/li><li>Prompt attendees with questions to encourage their engagement &#8211; remember this isn&#8217;t a video tour, its an opportunity to connect with buyers in real-time<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #3796f0;\"><strong>Step 8)<\/strong><\/span> Once your event has ended, save the recording &#8211; either to your camera roll if the platform allows it, or to your page\/profile, then share it with your audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #3796f0;\"><strong>Ninja Tip:<\/strong>&nbsp;Personally follow up with anyone who attended!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.giphy.com\/media\/ENagATV1Gr9eg\/source.gif\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #3796f0;\"><strong>Worth Mentioning: The More Complicated Way<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We don&#8217;t recommend this for most agents, but you can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/help\/publisher\/593310264553282\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">set up a live stream event beforehand on Facebook Live Producer<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is only for people that want to use high-end production equipment. You\u2019ll also need streaming software <em>(also referred to as encoding software or an encoder)<\/em> and there are quite a few steps to get it working.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The benefit of this method is that you can broadcast in production quality, use Facebook&#8217;s built-in announcement posts, reminder notifications, live broadcast posts, crosspost the live stream to multiple pages simultaneously, and so on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This method is&nbsp;overkill for 99.99% of agents doing live stream open houses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #3796f0;\">How to Schedule a Live Stream Open House on Various Platforms<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Each platform has a different system for letting&nbsp;real estate agents stream live content.&nbsp;While each platform differs slightly, for the most part, you have to follow the same sort of steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/facebookmedia\/solutions\/facebook-live\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/help.instagram.com\/292478487812558\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Instagram<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/live_dashboard_splash\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">YouTube<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.zoom.us\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/115000350406-Streaming-a-meeting-or-webinar-on-Facebook-Live\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zoom (streamed to Facebook Live)<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/livestream.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vimeo<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It may seem complex and scary at first, but once you roll up your sleeves and dive in, it&#8217;s pretty user-friendly and intuitive &#8211; you got this!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #3796f0;\">One last thing&#8230;<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Before we let you go, just want to reiterate&nbsp;a very important note that we covered earlier:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A&nbsp;live-streamed open house&nbsp;<span style=\"color: #339966;\">is a live&nbsp;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">event<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">not a pre-recorded video<\/span>. These are two different marketing tools for your listing, with their own specific uses.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pre-recorded videos of your property are virtual tours or YouTube videos that you have created in advance, likely&nbsp;around the time you were getting photos taken of the property.
