Capture More Leads On Your Real Estate Website For Free

We’re big proponents of utilizing great technology to grow your business. If that technology is easy-to-use and free, even better. This article dives into a few online services that offer free accounts that you can quickly set up and take advantage of right away to capture more leads on your real estate website.

Note that all the services listed below should work on all types of REALTOR® websites, including RealtyNinja.

Wufoo

First on our list is Wufoo: an online form builder used by some of the worlds largest brands. It’s so easy-to-use that you won’t need help from your IT guy to set it up. With a simple drag-and-drop interface and pre-built fields for common items such as name, email, address, etc. you’ll be able to create your own forms for buyers and sellers. Once your forms are created, you can embed them onto any page of your site and start capturing more information from your visitors right away.

Instead of using a generic “what’s my home worth?” form on your site, create a custom one (using Wufoo) for a very specific type of home and area. For example, create a form called “What’s My Yaletown Condo Worth?” and use form-fields specific to that. People are more inclined to work with experts, and this is one more way to establish yourself as a local authority in your niche.

Their free account is good for 1 user and up to 3 forms (with 10 form fields). You can sign up on their website. They offer paid accounts if you’re looking for more than 3 forms, without limits on number of fields.

Wisepops

Recently, we came across another equally awesome service called Wisepops. Wisepops is a tool that lets you create your own lead-capture lightboxes (popups in old-school terms) and install them on your own website. You can even set specific trigger-rules like how many pages a visitor has to click into, how many seconds on your site, only enabling it on certain pages, etc.

If someone walks into your open house, you’d probably introduce yourself and let them know that you’re there if they have any questions. The same logic goes for your website and it can be very effective. A simple “hello, I’m here to help” can go a long way, and it’s been proven to increase lead-capture and conversion rates. Using Wisepops, create your own little “hello, I’m here to help” message and install it on your site. Make sure to include your name and contact info, bonus points if you design it to look nice and include your photo.

Their free account is good for up to 5000 page views, which is probably enough to get you started. If you’re looking to integrate with MailChimp (to grow your newsletter list) then you’ll need to go with a paid account. Check out their site to get started.

Not for you? Check out Popup Architect.

Purechat

If you’re committed to monitoring and responding to chat requests in real-time, then check out Purechat. It’s a free live-chat service for your website and it’s a great way to make a solid first impression. It has a nice interface and lots of useful features such as canned responses, chat history, location info, and it works on all your devices (so you don’t have to constantly sit behind a desk).

Let’s say a potential buyer is on your site and has been looking at a particular listing for a while. You can reach out and offer more information on that property, in real-time. This is a great opportunity to provide added-value, build a connection and capture their contact details. You can even set your chat widget to automatically start the conversation with them using a canned welcome message… and if they reply to it, it will start an actual chat conversation (this automates an initial step and can save you lots of time).

Their free account is good for up to 30 chats per month. That’s probably enough to get your toes wet. If you’re looking for more, it’s just $5/month for an account without limits. Take a look at their website for details.

Not for you? Take a look at zopim.com if you want to stick to the “free” options, or try a paid account on olark.com (which is what we use on RealtyNinja.com).

Super-Ninja-Double-Combo: Use Wufoo & Wisepops Together

If you’re looking to kick it up a notch and squeeze out every last bit of lead goodness from your visitors, then you can experiment with combining a custom Wufoo form and showing it in a lightbox you made in Wisepops.

How do I use it for my real estate site?

Instead of just using a generic “Hey, I’m here to help” message… use a custom-made Wufoo form in your Wisepop and capture leads based on the content they’re looking at. For example, if someone is reading your sellers guide, show them a lightbox with the heading “Ready To Sell Your Home?” and a custom form that asks them for details about the property they’re looking to sell. Make sure to include your value proposition (“I can sell your home for top dollar, I typically sell homes in under 2 weeks, I sell more condos in your area than anyone else, etc.”).

Geeky technical note: Copy the embed code for your Wufoo form, then paste that in the custom HTML part on your Wisepop. Choose the “iframe” version in Wufoo, or else the height of your lightbox may not fit your custom form.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this list of free resources you can use to boost leads and conversions on your real estate website. Feel free to post your questions or thoughts in the comments below.
