Brand Spankin’ New Theme: “Element”

Wednesday, April 18th, 2012

We just released a new high-end theme and we’re calling it “Element”. The Element theme is now available to all our customers (for no extra charge of course).

Real estate agent website theme for RealtyNinja

You can see it in action on our sample website. It also comes in 8 fresh new flavors.

To start using this theme, just login to your website and choose “Element” from the theme chooser in the “Edit My Website” section.

There are a few items to consider with Element to get it looking it’s best:

  • Banner images should be 1032px wide
  • Homepage banner images should be at least 360px tall (if you want the listings carousel overlapping the banner image)

If the theme doesn’t look good right away with your previous banner and logo images, get in touch with us.

Want your own version with your branding and colors? Customizations on Element are now available for just $149.

Custom Listing & Building Groups, New Themes And More!

Custom Listing & Building Groups

Now you can assign listings and buildings into custom groups. This is a great new feature for real estate agents that work in teams, as well as those who want to segregate their listings based on any criteria they like.

Some examples include:

  • Each realtor wants their listings displayed on its own page
  • Separate your commercial vs residential listings
  • Create custom listing groups for different developments you’re marketing
  • Showcase your favorite listings on the market

Each listing group is managed separately from the backend of your website.

On your public-facing site your visitors can see only what they’re interested in, not just a huge mixed list of all “active listings”

The same goes for buildings. Some examples could be:

  • Buildings in a specific area or sub-area
  • Buildings based on type (heritage, concrete, etc.)
  • Buildings you have sold in

Here are step by step instructions on how to start using this incredibly powerful feature on your RealtyNinja website:

Brand New Theme “Crisp”

We’ve added a new theme called “Crisp” to our line up of themes.

More variations on this theme will be released in the future and let us know if you would like a customized version for your website.

Updated Theme “Classic” – Dark Version

Our most popular “Classic” theme now comes in a sexy dark version.

Read all about it and see screenshots in this blog article.

Ninja Tip – Creating A Hidden Page For A Specific Client

Lets say you just met with a client this morning and you know he’s looking for a house in North Vancouver with certain criteria.

You can make him a special page on your website (that only he knows about, since its not a part of your navigation menu) and add a personal note with all the listings that you have hand-selected for him.

All you have to do is hide the page from your navigation by clicking the little lightbulb icon next to it.

Then, you email him a link directly to the page.

Here’s a live example using the new custom listing groups.

Major Code Optimization

We’ve been hard at work going through all of our code and cleaning it all up.

Why do you care?
because A) it will help search engines index your website better and B) it makes it easier for us to work on new updates in the future.

Bug Fixes & Tweaks

  • Geolocation now uses both address and postal code (more accurate)
  • Added Google Apps support to settings page in backend
  • New side-tab design in backend
  • Show number of listings in each group on tab beside the label “My Listings (13)”
  • “View full site” link wasn’t working on sub-domain sites (sitename.realtyninja.com)
  • search for properties over $5,000,000 wasn’t always working
  • Page names now have a limit of 50 characters
  • Better redirects between full site and mobile site
  • Fixed bug with update script that would not update a listing if JUST the photos had been updated
  • Fixed bug where townhouse results were being included in house searches
  • A ton more little tweaks and bug fixes

New “Classic” theme available for all RealtyNinja users

Thursday, April 28th, 2011

In our quest to provide you with the sexiest real estate websites possible, we have released a new theme available to all RealtyNinja users free of charge.

We are calling this new theme “Classic” and it’s super clean, user-friendly and minimalistic.

New Classic Theme

View the new theme in action on our example website.

To change your theme, login to your website and click the “Edit My Website” tab. On the right side you will find a dropdown menu with a list of available themes. Simply select the theme and presto! you are now using it. None of your data is changed so you can easily switch back to your old theme if you prefer. Keep in mind that if your logo/banners have been designed primarily for a dark theme, they may not look perfect on the new light “Classic” theme. But fret not! Simply send us an e-mail or give us a call and we will help transition your graphics to the new design.

We made 3 versions of link and navigation colors: green (default), red and blue. Let us know if you would like a custom color combination or banner image for your website, free of charge for our existing customers.

Look forward to more themes and variations coming in the near future.

If you have any questions feel free to email us any time at info@realtyninja.com and we will be happy to assist you. Keep an eye out for product updates, news and general updates from RealtyNinja.

A fresh set of updates has just been launched on RealtyNinja

Monday, March 21st, 2011

RealtyNinja is now available to any agent on planet earth

We have just opened up RealtyNinja to the rest of the world! We don’t have agreements set up yet with boards outside of BC, so the automated MLS® features (such as the MLS® search, Niche listing pages and automatically updated listings and buildings) will not be available.

Agents that are not part of the Greater Vancouver, Fraser Valley and Chilliwack Real Estate Boards will have to manage all listings and buildings manually but they still get access to the rest of RealtyNinja’s powerful arsenal.

Our new support/help system

We’ve beefed up our support system to make sure we’re able to handle each customer’s questions, issues or concerns as smoothly as possible.

You can access the new support system by going to http://support.realtyninja.com or clicking the “Help” tab in your RealtyNinja website’s backend (which will bring up the same thing).

We’re going to be adding tons of step-by-step articles in our Knowledge Base and updating our Public Discussion area to help users help themselves by finding answers to commonly asked questions.

People we work with

We just added an affiliates page to our website that features our design vendors and friends. Our “Design Ninjas” are able to create custom RealtyNinja themes for our customers, contact them for details.

New sections on RealtyNinja.com

Here’s a handy comparison of using a RealtyNinja website versus having a custom website made for you from scratch. The benefits speak for themselves.

We’ve also been getting a lot of positive feedback lately from our customers, we’ve featured two responses in particular that really stuck with us, take a look.

If you have a few minutes and would like to take our little survey, click here… it really helps us know how our customers feel so ultimately we can provide a better product and service.

New features

  • Multi-board integration – users can now sign up from any real estate board in the world
  • Agent’s name added to quick contact
  • Added paging to the bottom of MLS® search results
  • Added blog posts to auto-generated sitemap (helps google index your blog)
  • Google webmaster tools now available (SEO tab)
  • Overall speed improvements (server side)
  • Cleaned up

Bug fixes

  • new page heading structure
  • sometimes after adding a listing manually, it still imported the same listing automatically the next day. We have made it so that this does not happen anymore.
  • some auto-added listings wouldn’t geocode properly (wrong location on google maps), this is now fixed.
  • map icon shadows we’re off center as a result of Google changing how they are centered. We switched up our code and this now works.
  • other various fixes (not logged)
